Career development program for Advanced Level students at Ananda college Colombo

The LNBTI successfully conducted a Career Development program for Advanced Level students at Ananda college Colombo on 30th March 2022, as well as an Online carrier guidance session via Zoom on 1st of April 2022. Prof. Ananda Kumara and Dr. Thilak Chaminda shared their valuable knowledge as guest speakers in this session.  The purpose of the program was to help students understand the importance of selecting suitable higher education paths tactfully so that students pay attention to growing industries with growing job opportunities and skills required for successful careers. The speakers of this programme further elaborated the increasing opportunities for higher education and professional jobs particularly in the IT industry in Japan. Prof. Ananda Kumara explained the keen audience about different paths to travel to Japan for jobs and further studies and elaborated LNBTI’s model which opens doors for students to obtain professional IT jobs in Japan upon completion of Hons IT degrees which can be completed in Sri Lanka. The program also helped students to identify their career goals, important 21st century skills and latest trends in Japan when deciding the most suitable career path. The principal, all teachers and students appreciated this effort by LNBTI. Many positive feedback was received whilst showing an interest on this rare opportunity leading to professional jobs in Japan which has been created by LNBTI.

LNBTI Sinhala & Tamil New Year Celebrations

The annual ‘Avurudu’ Celebration of LNBTI Institute organized by the Students Activity Club of LNBTI was brought to a successful conclusion at the ‘Diyasaru’ Park, Battaramulla on 28th March 2022. The event was compromised of various traditional games and delicacies and also it was a colorful and vivacious event.  The main guests of the event were the chairman Mr. Koga Michio, Director Mr. Ikura Kazuyuki, Director Mr. Saman Kumara, Mr. Keerthi Wickramarathna from Budo Culture Research and Training Institute. Dr. Thilak Chaminda, Mr. Dilshan Samarasekara and other academic & non-academic staff. Students and staff members participated in traditional Awurudu games such as kana mutti bidima, Tug of War (kamba adeema), spot the elephant`s eye (aliyata aha thabima), musical chair, sangawunu amuththa, Sinhala folk song singing, best smile, the crowning of Avurudu Kumara & Kumariya and many other traditional games. The event was successfully concluded with a DJ party by mingling the youth and vibe with pure Sri Lankan tradition.

LNBTI Chairman visit

The chairman of the LNBTI Institute Mr. Koga Michio, Director Ikura Kazuaki and professor Ananda Kumara visit LNBTI all the way from Japan on 24th March 2022. The staff of the LNBTI warmly welcomed the chairman and top management to the premises of LNBTI. Mr. Koga Michio participated in a fruitful discussions with LNBTI top management, academics and shared his valuable thoughts about the further development and sustainability of the LNBTI. He expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to the service provided by staff of the LNBTI. They also had interactive sessions with students and shared their knowledge and guidance for their future development.

Multiple presentations were made on study options leading to professional jobs in Japan, Working Visa, Preparation of Japanese language proficiency (JLPT/NAT), the importance of Japanese business culture & tips for a successful life in Japan. This year, it was the 1st Online Openday & students who are just after their ALs were gathered online to get to know about LNBTI’s “4-Year British IT Hons Degree Program” & its opportunities. The participants who were just after their ALs & with pending AL results clarified many doubts and gained much information from the sessions of the open day. Participants had the opportunity of discussing their individual concerns during individual sessions which were organized after the main session. Chairman & directors also joined both the sessions (main session & individual sessions) all the way from Japan. Many participants appreciated LNBTI for organizing this unique open day which provided very valuable information regarding an excellent & correct path for students dreaming of joining the Japanese IT industry as professionals.

We, LNBTI will be there in AMBALANGODA – Ramon Beach Resort MEET US & Get to know about Job Opportunities in JAPAN Date: 12th March, 2022 Time: 2.00pm Venue: AMBALANGODA – Ramon Beach Resort The seminar which took place on 12th March 2022 in Ambalangoda was a career guidance for students after A/L. This was a 3-day paid programme at Ramon Beach Resort and around 60 students who did their A/L mainly in Mathematics, Biology & ICT participated for this programme. This was organized by a few leading tuition providers. LNBTI was invited to address the audience and Professor Ananda Kumara (Director Academic affairs at LNBTI) & Mr. Koga Michio (Chairman LNBTI) addressed the gathering via zoom all the way from Japan and advised the students on the attractiveness of Japan as a place for higher studies & employment and the growing demand for IT Professionals in Japan respectively. Thereafter an informative presentation on our UK Hons degree programmes & Japanese degree pathways was made by the Marketing Manager Ms. Sameera Malavige. It was a successful event as all participants were keenly listing to the presentations and were also showed interest in our UK Hons degree programmes leading to professional jobs in Japan.

We, LNBTI will be there in BANDARAWELA – Public Services Sport Club. MEET US & Get to know about Job Opportunities in JAPAN Date: 10th March, 2022 Time: 10am Venue: BANDARAWELA – Public Services Sport Club The Informative seminar on the theme “Study in Sri Lanka & obtain a professional job in Japan” was held on the 10th of March 2022 from 10am at the Bandarawela public sports club for student after A/L. This event was jointly organized by LNBTI and a well known & a respected ICT teacher in Bandarawela, Mr. Indunil. Many students and parents visited the seminar and LNBTI team organized an An interactive and an informative session by Professor Ananda Kumara (Director Academic affairs at LNBTI) and Mr. Ravindra Perera (Board Director LNBTI) through zoom on the attractiveness of Japan as a place for higher studies & employment and the growing demand for IT Professionals in Japan. Thereafter individual counselling sessions were conducted for most of the students & parents. There were many students have done both Japanese language and ICT subjects for their A/L and they were keen to obtain further information on this great opportunity during counselling sessions.

International Interactive Session on “Borderless Roundtable in the Era of Digital Transformation” 2022

Let’s talk about daily life This International Interactive session on the “Border-less round table in the era of Digital transformation” will be held on 26th February 2022 with the participation of school students of Japan, Sri Lanka, Northern Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, Thailand, Vietnam and Bangladesh for the 3rd consecutive time via Zoom. Purpose of the project Among remote islands and distant continents, the world is connected even during pandemic periods thanks to the Digital Transformation Era. Young people would create a sustainable world beyond 2025 for problem which will come after just three years, and they are expected to do so even after 20 years, and 100 years or so. Therefore, it is to create a platform for the young people from several countries to gather and talk about their daily life (i.e., food, fun, learning, hobbies etc.) to feel and understand cultural differences, different languages, common thoughts and wishes of people through this new form of international exchange. Hopefully, this program will allow the participants to create a set of values which would lead them for a brighter future in the era of Digital Transformation. This International Interactive session on the “Border-less round table in the era of Digital transformation” was held on 26th February 2022 (8.30am – 10.30am SLST) with the participation of school students of Japan, Sri Lanka, Northern Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, Thailand, Vietnam and Bangladesh for the 3rd consecutive time via Zoom. The young people from several countries got a chance to discuss their daily life patterns in their different like styles (i.e., food, fun, learning, hobbies etc.) to feel and understand cultural diversity, different languages, common thoughts and wishes of people through this new form of international exchange. This program was allowed the participants to create a set of values which would lead them for a brighter future in the era of digital transformation. This Project was content with two sessions 1st session – Prerecorded movie exchange (using “Flipgrid”) which was created by participants. The movie session is about their cultural activities. Eg: The Sri Lankan students were presenting about Sri Lankan Cricket, Sri Lankan Food and also about Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festival. 2nd Session – Real-time communication session. In this session participants were put into breakout rooms and gave them a chance to exchange their thoughts with other country students. Eg: Greetings, Oral presentation by delegates on Zoom, Casual meeting in a small room on Zoom.At the End of the Interactive Session the remarks were given by the organizing committee and a Group Picture was taken with all the participants. All participants appreciated LNBTI for conducting these types of International Interactive sessions. Being a Japanese-based IT higher education institute, our intention is to educate and develop the youth to become resourceful young and strong professionals who could join the IT industry in Sri Lanka, Japan, or Worldwide. Sakura Science Program

The Sakura Science workshop was successfully conducted February 15-17, 2022, with the collaboration and direction of the Japanese science and technology agency (JST). Professor Kazuaki Tanaka of the Kyushu Institute of Technology Japan led the program and it’s conducted via online.  It included a variety of discussions on the current scientific and technological developments including IoT and embedded systems. The participants were impressed with the program and acquired new knowledge in several fields of science and technology.  The Sakura Science program is expected to accelerate the international brain cycle, as well as encourage continuous collaboration, cooperation, and interaction between Japanese educational and research institutions and overseas institutions. The purpose of the project is to help develop talented human resources from overseas who can contribute to innovation and science in the future based on the objective of a sustainable world for the future.
