Getting Started: Programs & Admissions

If you have completed your A/Ls, you can enroll in BSc (Hons) Software Engineering or BSc (Hons) Computing (Information Systems). For those who have finished their O/Ls, you can start the BSc (Hons) Computing (Information Systems) program after completing a one-year foundation course at LNBTI.

For students joining after A/Ls, the degree program takes 4 years to complete. If you are joining after O/Ls, the total duration is 5 years, which includes the mandatory foundation year.

To join the Software Engineering degree after A/Ls, you generally need three 'S' passes in Physical Science or ICT streams, or any other stream with an approved bridging course,. For the Computing (Information Systems) degree, three 'S' passes in any A/L stream are requiredO/L entry requires at least a Credit (C) pass in English and Mathematics. 

You are still eligible to enrol, but you must fulfil these requirements within your first year, You can either re-sit the O/L exams during that year or complete LNBTI’s 6-month 

Yes, you can apply with pending O/L or A/L results. However, you must ensure you meet all official entry requirements within the first year of your degree program.

Academic Standards & Recognition

The entire program is conducted in English, including all lectures, assignments, and examinations. 

Yes, the Software Engineering program is approved by the Ministry of Education under the Universities Act. The Computing (Information Systems) degree is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The BSc (Hons) Computing (Information Systems) degree is awarded by the University of Greenwich, UK. 

The Japan Career Pathway

Yes, comprehensive Japanese language training is integrated into your degree pathway. You will be guided from beginner (N5) to professional levels by both Sri Lankan and native Japanese Senseis. 

No, the Japanese language training is not a standalone course; it is provided specifically as a core part of the Japan career degree pathway.

While the degree is conducted in Sri Lanka, eligible students can sit for internship placements in their 3rd year. If selected, you will have the opportunity to go to Japan for 2 to 6 months before returning to finish your final year.

To be eligible, you must maintain at least 'C' passes in all subjects and successfully pass the Japanese N3 level exam by your 3rd year.

The internship is fully funded by partner Japanese IT companies. This coverage includes visa arrangements, accommodation, living expenses, and a return air ticket between Sri Lanka and Japan.

Yes, students who complete their degree and pass job interviews with LNBTI’s industry partners can graduate with a permanent job offer letter from Japan,. 

Campus Life & Finances

Lectures are held from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. There are no lectures scheduled on weekends.
