The Inauguration Ceremony of 5y British IT Hons Degree for After O/L students – July Intake 2023
Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI), the first and the only Japanese higher education institute in South Asia to offer Japanese job-oriented IT Degree programmes approved by the Ministry of Education (MoE) & University Grants Commission (UGC) & successfully concluded the Orientation for the new batch of students for the 5-year BSc Hons in Computing & Information Systems offered by the University of Greenwich, UK on the 17th of July 2023 at LNBTI premises. The program was attended by their parents. These students joined this program with the pending O/L results. It was very encouraging to witness an overwhelming number of students representing many schools in different parts of the country joining the 3rd batch of this program. These students demonstrate a great enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to complete the programme successfully mastering the IT knowledge & skills, Japanese language skills, excellent understanding of the Japanese working culture with many other important soft skills and eagerly looking forward to joining the Japanese IT industry as IT professionals with permanent employment upon graduation. The parents were very happy and confident with this scientifically developed program which will transform students to suit the Japanese IT industry requirements. Students and parents thanked LNBTI for developing such a model which has created a proper, cost-effective, and a safe path to join the Japanese IT industry as IT professionals and to be successful in Japan with lucrative salaries, skilled Visa, and permanent employment, and other fringe benefits Furthermore, these students will be extremely fortunate to join the lucrative and fast-growing IT industry, especially in a country like Japan which is an economic powerhouse, technologically developed country in the world that is well known for highest safety & security, high-quality of life, excellent health benefits, rich Asian culture, and no discrimination.

We, LNBTI took part in Musaeus College Career Day 2023 on 15th July 2023 at the School premises. The teachers, students and parents who visited our exhibition stall were able to get to know the pathway to Japan and how to become an IT engineer in Japan upon Graduation
Sakura Blossoms again at Uva Wellassa University in SL
Sakura flowers blossom again at Uva Wellassa University for the second time in 2023.In 2018, Prof. Ananda Kumara initiated planting a Sakura tree for the first time in Sri Lanka, and now it is beautifully blossoming on the grounds of Badulla. Sakura (Japanese Cherry) plants have been planted on testing grounds at Uva Wellassa University. These Sakura plants were imported from Japan under a Special Tourism Development Project in collaboration with Uva Wellassa University, Meijo University of Japan and District Secretariat, Badulla. Under the project, 10 Sakura plants were brought from Japan and were planted at 7 different climatic and topographical conditions at Uva Province as a pilot research project. Two of the plants were ceremonially planted at Uva Wellassa University 5 years back. Blooming Sakura at Uva Wellassa University has indicated that climatic conditions of Badulla area are conducive with the requirements of Sakura trees. Professor Ananda Kumara (Former Founder Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Studies of Meijo University of Japan) and Dr. P. H. T. Kumara of Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka were the Coordinators of the project from Japan and Sri Lanka and Dr. Evon Kaliyadasa, of Uva Wellassa University administered the research work of two plants at Uva Wellassa University. Since the research work was successfully carried out, the project will be upscaled with 1000 Sakura tress planting at Badulla area and developing a new tourism development avenue with a “Sakura Path”.
LNBTI’s Visit to Galle
On the 7th of July 2023, LNBTI – Japanese IT university, embarked on a visit to Jeewani Sensei’s Japanese Class in Galle upon her request. The purpose of this visit was to engage with the students after O/Ls and A/Ls who study Japanese Language, to discuss the benefits of studying at LNBTI and the potential career opportunities it offers. The LNBTI team, led by Professor Ananda Kumara, the esteemed Vice Chancellor of the university, commenced the visit by highlighting the significance of pursuing higher education at LNBTI. Professor Ananda emphasized the LNBTI’s commitment to providing world-class IT education and its strong ties with the Japanese industry. He explained that LNBTI graduates are highly sought-after professionals in the IT sector and have excellent prospects of securing lucrative employment opportunities in Japan upon graduation. Jeewani Sensei along with her students expressed genuine interest in this unique educational pathway presented by LNBTI. JICA’s Visit to LNBTI: Facilitating IT Job Opportunities in Japan for Sri Lankan Students
On the 29th of June, 2023, LNBTI – Japanese IT University in Sri Lanka had the honor of hosting a visit from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). As an organization focusing on promoting quality growth, development cooperation for inclusive growth, and mitigating vulnerability in Sri Lanka, JICA explored avenues to facilitate IT job opportunities in Japan for LNBTI students. The visit was attended by prominent representatives from JICA, including Mr. Yamada Tetsuya, the Chief Representative, Ms. Ide Yuri, the Senior Representative, and Ms. Miyake Yukako, the Project Formulation Advisor. LNBTI was represented by Professor Ananda Kumara, the Vice Chancellor, as well as the Directors, Mr. Ravindra Perera and Mr. Dilshan, and other key personnel. The primary focus of JICA’s visit to LNBTI was to discuss how JICA could assist in facilitating IT job placements in Japan for LNBTI students. The event aimed to foster collaboration and provide valuable information about the opportunities available to their students through LNBTI. Professor Ananda Kumara, the Vice Chancellor of LNBTI, took the opportunity to elucidate the pathways for students to secure IT job opportunities in Japan upon graduation with an IT honours degree. On the 27th of June, an insightful student awareness session was organized by LNBTI at Epitome Hotel, Kurunegala. The event aimed to provide students who recently completed their A/L and O/L examinations with valuable information about the opportunities available through LNBTI.
