InfernoX 1.0 is a structured, multi-phase inter-school hackathon designed to encourage school students to build real solutions to real problems – not just random projects. This competition blends creativity, coding, collaboration and impact-oriented problem solving into a single exciting and educational experience.

What is InfernoX 1.0?

InfernoX 1.0 is an inter-school hackathon built around real problem-solving. Instead of generic projects, students are encouraged to identify real-world issues and design impactful technological solutions using innovative thinking and teamwork.

 

The Problem We’re Solving

Many student projects lack real problem focus, making them less impactful. InfernoX 1.0 addresses this by guiding participants through a structured process: register → submit a problem proposal → get shortlisted → present → build and demo a working solution.

 

Competitive Tracks

Participants must choose a track and build an AI or tech solution with real-world value.

  • Education & Skill Development: Tools/platforms to enhance learning and accessibility
  • Disaster Management & Resilience: Systems for preparedness, response and recovery
  • Renewable Energy & Efficiency: Solutions for solar, wind, bioenergy and sustainability
  • AI for Post-Harvest Management: Tools to predict storage needs and reduce spoilage
  • Open Innovation: Any original tech/AI idea that solves a real problem

 

Event Timeline

  • Official Launch: 8 February 2026
  • Registrations: 12 – 28 February 2026
  • Proposal Submission: 8 February – 10 March 2026
  • Proposal Review & Shortlisting: 10 – 22 March 2026
  • Phase I – Proposal Presentation: 31 March 2026
  • Phase II – Project Demonstration (Finals): 30 May – 5 June 2026

 

Prizes & Recognition

All finalists will receive certificates. Winners also receive cash prizes and recognition.

  • 1st Prize: LKR 250,000 + Winner Certificate
  • 2nd Prize: LKR 150,000 + Winner Certificate
  • 3rd Prize: LKR 100,000 + Winner Certificate
  • 4th & 5th Place: LKR 50,000 each + Winner Certificates

 

Registration Details

Teams of 2–5 students (same school) are eligible. There is no registration fee and spots are limited.
