Inaugural Convocation of Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute
The Inaugural Convocation Ceremony of Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI) was held on 14th November 2025 under the esteemed leadership and presence of distinguished dignitaries. The ceremony was headed by His Excellency Mr. Akio Isomata, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka, together with Professor Ananda Kumara, Vice Chancellor, Mr. Koga Michio, Founder and Former Chairman, Mr. Kazuyuki Ikura, Chairman, and Mr. Dinesh Saparamadu, Vice Chairman.
This historic event marked a significant milestone in LNBTI’s academic journey, celebrating academic excellence and the strong educational partnership between Japan and Sri Lanka.














A total of eight (8) students graduated with the Bachelor of Computing (Information Systems) degree. Among them, five (5) students successfully completed the degree together with the JLPT N3 qualification, while three (3) students completed only the Bachelor of Computing (Information Systems) degree.
The five graduates who achieved the JLPT N3 qualification were conferred their degrees by the Chief Guest, His Excellency Mr. Akio Isomata. The remaining graduates were awarded their degrees by Mr. Kazuyuki Ikura, Chairman of LNBTI.
In parallel with the graduation ceremony, students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance during the previous semester and the last academic year were recognized with Dean’s Awards and Faculty Awards, honoring their dedication and excellence.
Further recognizing exceptional achievement, Awards of Academic Distinction were presented. The Koga Michio Gold Medal for Best Academic Performance was awarded to R. M. K. H. Rathnayaka, while the Dinesh Saparamadu Gold Medal for Best Overall Performance was awarded to V. G. T. R. Jayawardhana.
The convocation was graced by a distinguished gathering of Japanese and Sri Lankan guests, along with graduates, award recipients, and their parents, reflecting the strong academic and cultural ties shared by the two nations.
Adding cultural richness to the occasion, the ceremony featured a traditional Japanese Bon Odori dance, symbolizing friendship, harmony, and mutual respect.
