Workshops Held for LNBTI Staff Members in 2025

 

ORCID ID Workshop

The ORCID Awareness Session, organized by the ORCID GPF Project Team in collaboration with the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, was successfully conducted to enhance researchers’ understanding and effective use of ORCID identifiers. The workshop was held on 3rd January 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Lecture Room 2, LNBTI, and provided participants with valuable insights into the importance and practical application of ORCID in research activities.

Pedagogical Workshop

The Pedagogical Workshop was conducted on 17th April at the Main Campus under the facilitation of Prof. Sethunga. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of Professional Development while developing practical skills related to effective teaching practices.

Staff Development Program

The Staff Development Program was successfully held on August 22, 2025, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at Lecture Hall No. 2 of the LNBTI Main Building.

The session was conducted by Dr. Shantha Hettiarachchi, former Chief Medical Officer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an experienced Family and General Counsellor. The program focused on enhancing staff well-being, professional growth, and workplace collaboration.

All staff members participated actively, making the event both informative and engaging.

2025 Professional & Skill Development Workshops for LNBTI Students

How to Spend Our Youth Successfully

The session titled “How to Spend Our Youth Successfully” was conducted on 28th May 2025 by OCI Mr. Manoj Samarasekera from the Community Police of the Sri Lanka Police. The program focused on guiding youth to make productive choices, develop positive habits, and utilize their time effectively for personal growth and community contribution.

The pre-conference workshop session

The pre-conference workshop session on Microcontrollers was conducted on 25 September 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM as part of JASPER 2025. The session was held in the computer laboratory and focused on the practical applications of microcontrollers. It was led by Prof. Kazuaki Tanaka from the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. A total of 24 students actively participated in the hands-on workshop, during which Prof. Tanaka provided in-depth insights into microcontroller programming and real-world implementations through interactive demonstrations and practical exercises
