The ‘ Halloween’s night’ of LNBTI organized by the Student Activity Club was successfully held on 29th October 2021 as an online event. This event included several attractive segments presented by LNBTI students. Horror-themed costumes were worn by every student and the most creative costumes were selected as winners at the awarding ceremony. The event included three main segments as Halloween games, horror movies, and finally, the awarding ceremony. Every participant at the event was able to experience an unforgettable and joyous night.

LNBTI team qualified as finalists in TADHack 2021 competition
The TADHack Sri Lanka 2021 was held on 25th and 26th September and the team represented LNBTI was able to qualify for the finals. Chamud Pathirana, Kumudri Goonetilleke, Rithika Hettiarachchi and Tithira Wanniarachchi were the team members and their spirited performance during entire competition was remarkable. TADHack is a global innovation event that is organized annually from 2014. It is considered as the world’s biggest telco development application hackathon. Competitors from different countries of the world are participated in this event.

The free webinar series organized by LNBTI was successfully completed. It was conducted on 28th,29th and 30th September of 2021 by well experienced & qualified senior lecturers of the institute. The webinar series was organized under three important themes of Robotics and IOT, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Introduction to Game Development respectively. The main aim of this webinar series was to enhance the knowledge regarding aforementioned specific fields of the students who have completed their O/L’s and make the youth well armoured with the technological knowledge of this fast changing world. Students representing different schools in the island actively participated in this programme. They were able to acquire all theoretical and technical knowledge and also they contributed to the programme by engaging themselves in practical sessions. All participants appreciated LNBTI for conducting these interactive webinar series on these emerging fields in the world of ICT. Being a Japanese based IT higher education institute, our intention is to educate and develop the youth to become resourceful IT professionals who could join the IT industry in Sri Lanka, Japan or anywhere in the world.

Nihon Star Award Ceremony
Nihon Star Japanese Talent Competition was organized by LNBTI to create a platform for Sri Lankan youth who appreciate the Japanese language and culture to showcase the rich Japanese culture through the performances of their diverse talents. This unique talent competition was conducted successfully with an overwhelming number of participants and all the participants in the first round, second round, as well as winners, will be awarded a valuable certificate based on their performances. Certificates for the participants of the “Japanese Language Teacher Training Programme” (JLTT) also will be awarded in the ceremony. Nihon Star Award ceremony will be held on 21st of September 2021 from 6:00 pm onwards via the Zoom platform. This virtual award ceremony will be graced by the Hon Ambassador of the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka and the Hon Ambassador of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan. LNBTI is inviting individuals, those who are interested in Japan and Japanese culture to participate in this special occasion.
