Island Friendship Exchange 2023 | Together with Japan & Sri Lanka

For the 4th consecutive time, the “Island Friendship Exchange” Interactive Session between Japan and Sri Lanka will be held on 24th February 2023 under the title of “Island sustainability – Nature, Culture and Community” This International Interactive session will be held via Zoom, with the participation of school students from Kikai Islands – Japan and Negambo, Anuradhapura, Kuliyapitiya, Kurunegala – Sri Lanka

We were there at Galle, meeting Principals, Vice Principals, A/L ICT & Japanese Teachers of reputed schools

Richmond College Mahinda College Sanghamittha Balika Vidyalaya Southlands College St’ Aloysius College Rippon Girls’ College and Vidyaloka College, the top leading schools in Galle LNBTI met the Principals, Vice Principals, A/L ICT and Japanese teachers of the leading schools in Galle on 20th February, 2023 at Galle Fort Hotel to present the opportunities in Japan for Sri Lankan students, as LNBTI is able to offer a permanent and a professional Job upon completion of Hons degree programs in IT. As the IT industry is grooming in Japan and the requirement for many IT professionals, Sri Lankan students can benefit from this opportunity by becoming IT graduates with the fluency of Japanese Language. Prof Ananda Kumara explained about the unique Japanese Job oriented degree model which is introduced to students after O/Ls & A/Ls. Prof Ananda Kumara, the Vice Chancellor – LNBTI, Mr. Ikura Kazuyuki – Director LNBTI, Mr Ravindra Perera, Director – LNBTI, Mr. Dilshan Samarasekare, Director – LNBTI & Ms. Sameera Malawige, the Head of Partnerships took part in this special session.

Tokyo Institute of Technology Delegation’s Visit to LNBTI

On February 1st, 2023, Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI) received and welcomed a special group of delegation from the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) which is one of the best technology universities in Japan. The rare opportunity of receiving this delegation to LNBTI w🇯🇵🇱🇰as made possible because of the strong connections Prof. Ananda Kumara has with this university. Prof. Ananda Kumara is an alumnus of this university where he completed both Master’s degree and PhD programmes at the Tokyo Tech and later on became a professor as well. The purpose of the visit was to explore unique opportunities to collaborate with Tokyo Tech in arranging student exchange programmes, joint research and to strengthen the relationship among both Universities. A group of professors and delegates led by Tokyo Institute of Technology, Prof. Eri Ota, specially appointed Professor for University Education Administrator of Tokyo tech, Prof. Rie Murakami-Suzuki, specially appointed associate Professor and Kayo Kikuchi San, the support officer for Global Human Resource Development were among the delegation that visited LNBTI. The delegation met the LNBTI Vice Chancellor Prof. Ananda Kumara, Ikura Kazuyuki, the Director LNBTI and all staff of LNBTI during the visit.

JASA Representative’s Visit to LNBTI

Mr. Tomoyuki Iwanaga, the Managing Director of Global Innovation Consulting Inc & Ms. Daisy Thang from Japan conducted a special session for LNBTI students on 31st January 2023

LNBTI met the Principals & A/L ICT and Japanese teachers, parents of Anuradhapura to present the opportunities in Japan for Sri Lankan students, as LNBTI is able to offer a permanent and a professional Job upon completion of Hons degree programs in IT. Meeting Joseph Vaz College – Negambo Vice Principal & A/L Teachers

LNBTI met the Vice Principal of Joseph Vaz College, Negambo – Madam Prabha to present the opportunities in Japan for Sri Lankan students. LNBTI, the first and the only Japanese higher education institute in South Asia to offer Japanese job-oriented IT Degree programmes & is able to offer a permanent and a professional Job upon completion of Hons degree programs in IT. Prof Ananda Kumara explained about the unique Japanese Job oriented degree model which is introduced to students after O/Ls & A/Ls. The A/L teachers (Chemistry, ICT) also joined this discussion & this was held on 19th January 2023.
