Mahanama College’s Japanese Workshop Ignites Cultural Exchange
The Japanese Language Association of Mahanama College, Colombo, orchestrated a captivating cultural exchange program on the 23rd of November 2023. The main objective of this Japanese Workshop was to elevate the Japanese language proficiency of the students of Mahanama College. It was truly a great honor, as the Japan Foundation graced this School event initiated by Mrs. Minami Munakatha, a representative of the Japan Foundation as the main chief guest for the event. Also, four other Japanese university students, joined by Ikura Kazuyuki-san, the director of LNBTI, graced the occasion as the rest of the other chief guests. The event not only attracted active participation from students of various schools but was also driven by the enthusiastic efforts of Mahanama College students under the leadership of their Japanese teacher, Mrs. Anju Hewage. Mrs. Anju Hewage expressed profound gratitude to the LNBTI team for their sponsorship and support, underscoring the collaborative spirit that fueled the success of this cross-cultural celebration. The participation of the Japanese Foundation of Sri Lanka added an extra layer of authenticity to an event that unfolded with a rich tapestry of Japanese traditional and cultural segments, truly embodying the essence of harmony and exchange

The event featured an enlightening session on the pathway to obtaining a UGC-approved and recognized IT Honors Degree right here in Sri Lanka, paving the way for a flourishing career in the Land of the Rising Sun. Attendees were treated to a comprehensive overview of opportunities in Japan, including insights into Japanese sports, music, history, and the deep-rooted relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka. The highlight of the day was a captivating presentation by LNBTI students, sharing their experience with the student exchange program with Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, and experiences they had by LNBTI students’ visit to Japan through Sakura Science program. Our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ananda Kumara and the LNBTI team conducted individual counseling sessions, guiding participants on the exciting path of career development. As a delightful bonus, everyone got to unleash their creativity in a fun-filled activity, trying their hand at drawing Japanese anime art alongside our talented LNBTI students. The day was an overwhelming success, leaving participants inspired and ready to embark on their journey towards a bright future in the dynamic world of IT.
LNBTI Media Club Establishment: Elevating Creative Excellence
Exciting News from LNBTI! Today marked the grand launch of the LNBTI Media Club, a platform that showcases the incredible talents of our students in photography, videography, and announcing. Out of the 40 talented participants in the auditions, a huge congratulations to the winners selected by the esteemed judge panel, which included Prof. Ananda Kumara, The Vice Chancellor of LNBTI, and our dedicated lecturers. What sets our Media Club apart is the emphasis on linguistic diversity, with students proficient in Sinhala, English, and Japanese selected for upcoming activities. A special shout-out to our student Thisura De Silva of UOG Batch 03, who not only secured the prestigious position of the Media Club’s new President but also exhibited exceptional skills by winning in both videography and photography categories! The celebrations were nothing short of joyous, highlighted by a delightful cake-cutting ceremony. As we embark on this creative journey, we’re thrilled to announce the official launch of the LNBTI Media Club Facebook page. Naoko Koizumi Sensei brings a wealth of experience to students at LNBTI, as she was a former Japanese Language Sensei from renowned institutions such as “Japanese Language School” in Osaka, Kinki Japanese Language School, Kyoshin Language Academy, Ashiya International School, and Meric Japanese Language School. Students at LNBTI, now have the unique opportunity to learn the Japanese language from a native speaker, enhancing their language acquisition with an authentic and immersive experience. The university looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with Naoko Koizumi Sensei and is excited about the enriching educational journey she will provide for the students.

LNBTI, the Japanese IT University, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new City campus located in the heart of Maharagama, housed within the prestigious Sathara building. The Grand Opening ceremony was led by LNBTI Chairman, Mr. Koga Michio, alongside key directors representing both Japanese and Sri Lankan stakeholders. This strategic move reflects LNBTI’s commitment to providing an enriched educational experience for its students by offering a conveniently situated space for lectures and academic activities. The City campus not only symbolizes the institution’s expansion but also underscores its dedication to fostering a conducive learning environment. The establishment of the City campus in Maharagama ensures easy accessibility for both students and parents, facilitating seamless visits to the campus. 3 Gaga Heads perform at Galle – Guru Madala Tuition Centre
3 GAGA HEADS from Japan, are a comedy performance trio of WAHAHA HOMPO. For the first time in Sri Lanka, they started a circle of performances throughout the country. During their visit to Galle – Sri Lanka, they entertained a lot of students, teachers and parents of Galle on 21st September, 2023 Jeewani sensei, one of the renowned Japanese senseis of Galle, took the initiative to gather hundreds of students.
