Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI) is pleased to announce that Senior Advisor Mr. Koga Michio and Vice Chancellor Prof. Ananda Kumara paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo on 1 April 2026.
The visit was linked to the recent Sri Lanka Study Tour conducted by students of the Institute of Science Tokyo (IST) in March 2026. As part of this engagement, the students were given the opportunity to visit the Embassy and present a brief report on their study tour experience in Sri Lanka. The occasion provided a meaningful platform for academic reflection, cross-cultural exchange, and constructive dialogue.
The delegation was warmly received by His Excellency Professor Pivithuru Janak Kumarasinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Japan, Ms. Thilini Gunarathne, Mr. Sadun Sameera, the First Secretaries, and the staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo. The presentations made by the IST students also highlighted their fruitful interactions with LNBTI students and staff during their visit to Sri Lanka.
LNBTI sincerely appreciates the kind arrangements made by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo and is deeply grateful for the warm welcome extended to the delegation. The opportunity to listen to the student presentations and receive valuable observations and advice from Embassy officials made the visit especially significant.
During the meeting, Prof. Ananda Kumara briefed the Embassy staff on several important recent developments at LNBTI. These included the successful recruitment of LNBTI’s first batch of graduates by Japanese IT companies as full-time employees, a major milestone that reflects the institute’s mission of preparing Sri Lankan students for global career opportunities. He also highlighted the recent accreditation of LNBTI’s Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) programme, which marks another important achievement in the institute’s academic and institutional progress.
The visit further demonstrated the strong and growing relationship between LNBTI and Japan, as well as the institute’s continuing engagement with key organizations such as the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo. These connections are of great importance to LNBTI students, parents, graduates, and other stakeholders, as they reflect the institute’s commitment to building trusted partnerships that support academic excellence, international exposure, and professional pathways to Japan.
LNBTI remains committed to further strengthening its partnerships with Japanese institutions and relevant organizations in order to create meaningful opportunities for students and to contribute positively to Sri Lanka–Japan educational and professional cooperation.
