LNBTI and Metatechno Inc., Japan: Connecting Sri Lankan IT Talent with Japan

LNBTI Japanese IT University is strengthening its role in connecting Sri Lankan IT talent with international career opportunities in Japan.

On 6 August 2026, the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency (SLFEA) and Metatechno Inc., Japan signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the recruitment and placement of qualified Sri Lankan professionals in Japan.

A Partnership Focused on Skilled Talent

Metatechno Inc., Japan will work with SLFEA to identify, recruit, and place skilled Sri Lankan professionals in response to Japan’s growing demand for talent. The initiative is expected to create opportunities in Information Technology, Engineering, and other specialised fields.

The agreement also places emphasis on legal, ethical, and transparent recruitment, with processes aligned with the labour laws, regulations, and standards of both Sri Lanka and Japan.

Strengthening Sri Lanka–Japan Connections

The MoU further strengthens cooperation between Sri Lanka and Japan while creating a more structured pathway for qualified professionals to pursue international careers. Representatives from LNBTI also attended the signing ceremony, reflecting the institute’s connection to this growing Sri Lanka–Japan professional network.

How LNBTI Connects to This Opportunity

Metatechno Inc., Japan, the parent company of LNBTI Japanese IT University, provides a direct link between LNBTI and the Japanese technology and employment landscape. This connection supports LNBTI’s mission of preparing students for careers that extend beyond Sri Lanka.

For LNBTI students and graduates, the development is particularly significant. Through Japanese language education, IT-focused learning, and exposure to Japanese professional culture, LNBTI prepares aspiring IT professionals to pursue opportunities in Japan with the skills and confidence required for an international career.

Building the LNBTI Pathway to Japan

The collaboration between SLFEA and METATECHNO adds another important link to the pathway LNBTI is building for Sri Lankan students who aim to work in Japan. It reflects a broader vision of connecting education, industry, and international employment opportunities.

For students and aspiring IT professionals, developments such as this highlight the growing opportunities available for Sri Lankan talent with the right technical skills, professional preparation, and international outlook.
