Vice Chancellor meets Japan Sri Lanka Exchange Association (JSLEA) Officials in Tokyo

During a recent visit to Japan by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ananda Kumara, he met the Director Mr.Hirose, Secretary Mrs.Nozawa,  Advisor Mr.Fujino and other staff of Japan Sri Lanka Exchange Association (JSLEA) to discuss about further strengthening of the relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka. These top officials of the JSLEA appreciated the launching of a unique high-skilled human resource development project, which means the establishment of the first and only Japanese university in Sri Lanka.

In fact, Mr. Hirose and Mrs. Nozawa made a visit to LNBTI a few months ago with the delegation led by Mr.Kozo Yamamoto, a former Minister of the House of Representatives. The visit by the Vice Chancellor to their office in Tokyo is a follow up of the discussions at LNBTI.

As Japan is undergoing a drastic labor shortage for various skill categories, the package of LNBTI which is aimed at educating skillful Sri Lankan youth to work in Japanese IT industry. The top executives JSLEA assessed the effort of that LNBTI as a successful solution to assist the success of the immediate and long-term sustainable development of both Japan and Sri Lanka.

In particular, these executives assessed the incredible contribution made by Professor Ananda Kumara as a leading academic from Sri Lanka who is known for Japan as a pioneer in proposing unique and successful approaches in the aspect of global human resource development.
