Strengthening LNBTI’s Academic and Industry Connections with Japan

LNBTI continues to strengthen its mission of connecting Sri Lankan IT talent with opportunities in Japan.

Recently, Mr. Koga Michio, Senior Advisor and Founding Chairman of LNBTI, together with the Vice Chancellor, paid a courtesy visit to the office of Mr. Takakazu Seto, Vice Minister of the Japanese Parliament, at the House of Representatives Members’ Office Building, Tokyo, Japan.

Mr. Seto, who visited LNBTI last year, has continued to show strong interest in LNBTI’s role in supporting Japan’s growing demand for skilled IT professionals. His encouragement and support have been highly valuable in creating meaningful academic and professional connections between LNBTI and Japan.

Through Mr. Seto’s kind coordination with Professor Matsuo of The University of Tokyo, LNBTI students have received a valuable opportunity to participate in a series of online lectures on Artificial Intelligence conducted in English by Professor Matsuo’s Laboratory.

During the visit, Mr. Koga and the Vice Chancellor also had the opportunity to hold direct discussions with representatives of Professor Matsuo’s Lab. The representatives expressed their eagerness to see how LNBTI students will perform in this lecture series and how they will benefit from this valuable learning opportunity.

LNBTI will provide continuous support to students throughout this online lecture series. A dedicated coordinator will guide the students to help them successfully complete the programme and gain maximum value from this opportunity.

This initiative marks another important step in LNBTI’s journey to develop globally competent, Japan-ready IT professionals who can contribute to both Sri Lanka and Japan.
