Chairman's Message
Koga Michio
Chairman
Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI) is unique in many ways. As a premier institute catering to higher education in Sri Lanka, our priority is in educating promising Sri Lankan youth, whilst not forgetting our duty to steer them on a path of guaranteed excellence when embarking on a future career. It is a journey based on mutual trust, responsibility and professionalism, with the ultimate goal of creating empowered youth, who can lead both our nations toward a better and brighter future.
Throughout history, Japanese people have traditionally been hard-working, quality-oriented and highly professional. These same qualities have elevated Japan to its status as a global economic powerhouse, resulting in Japanese products to be highly sought after in the global market.
However, even as a major league player in the ICT world, our own weaknesses hold us back from reaching our fullest potential. With the Japanese population seeing a progressive decline, and the cost of human resources becoming inflated, we are left with an inadequate workforce to cater to market demand. This national crisis has encouraged us to look for global partners; partners we can trust and share the same passion for growth.
Thus, the partnership between Metatechno Inc. and hSenid Ventures came to be. As the primary investor of LNBTI, Metatechno Inc is a Japanese software development company, which provides high-quality software to many industrial giants in Japan. We have been able to maintain leadership in several niche markets, especially in the fields of embedded and printer software technology.
For the past 15 years, Metatechno has been recruiting Sri Lankan engineers for its technical positions. Their exceptional talents and professionalism have made them indispensable partners in our business, driving our brand to new heights of success. This is yet another trigger that makes me believe we have made the right decision by partnering with hSenid and investing in Sri Lanka, to groom future talent to carry forward the torch of our vision for the future. It is an investment that will lead to a brighter future for many Sri Lankan students, and also an investment that will provide a sustainable solution to Japan’s national crisis.
Deputy Chairman's Message
Dinesh Saparamadu
Deputy Chairman
The year 1954, marked a historical turning point for all of us when Japan and Sri Lanka signed the Colombo plan that enabled government-to-government economic cooperation between the 2 nations, pioneering many development projects in both countries. Having the privilege to oversee the annual international conference for this milestone event, influenced me to open up a specialized degree awarding institute catering to higher education in Sri Lanka, as a partnership between us – hSenid Ventures of Sri Lanka and Metatechno Inc. in Japan.
Both Koga Michio and I wanted to make this Institute a true value addition to the lives of our students. Therefore, our main objective was to create an educational body that offers specialized curricula in the fields of IT and Software Engineering, incorporating the superior knowledge the Japanese hold respective in their domain.
It was also our goal to nurture and equip our youth with essential skills such as language and the cultural understanding; allowing them to be perfect candidates for the Japanese IT industry upon graduating from the institute.
After witnessing the growth and the impact we, as LNBTI, continue to make, I’m truly happy to see that we have indeed made a valuable contribution through our style of education. The positive responses we receive from the students who pass through our doors, are rewarding in their eagerness to become ICT professionals of an outstanding caliber, able to take on the challenges of the digital world.
Vice Chancellor/ President's Message

Vice Chancellor/ President
Welcome to LNBTI, which is the first and the only Japanese higher education institute of degree awarding status in both Sri Lanka and in the whole South Asia. Academic programs of LNBTI are of Taylor made type in particular to fulfill the demands and the needs of the Japanese labor market.
“LNBTI Model of higher education” has brought significantly different important characteristics to Sri Lanka. In addition to acquiring a quality degree in the information technology field, students are trained in such a way that they will be able to acquire a stable job in Japanese companies to be joined after the completion of the degree. This model is similar to that of higher education institutes in Japan. When universities in Japan admit students to their faculties, the objective of the university administration is not only to offer a degree to the students but to guide them to step-up for the next level, either to acquire a job of or to pursue higher studies.
Our students will study not only the subjects related to the information technology, but they will also gain a sound knowledge of the Japanese language. In addition, courses are available to deepen their understanding about the Japanese society in general and the business environment in particular.
With this kind of skill acquisition, we anticipate that all our devoted students will be able to successfully complete all related examinations. When they proceed to the later part of study programs, they will be guided to sit for the entrance examinations and interviews related to the acquisition of jobs in Japanese companies. Successful students will be able to acquire permanent jobs in Japan which are quite similar to the jobs to be acquired by the students in universities in Japan.
According to the recent changes in the laws and regulations for recruiting foreign professionals, successful LNBTI graduates will be able to acquire quality and permanent jobs which allow them to stay in Japan until the retirement, if they wish to do so. Foreign employees who will receive permanent jobs are illegible to receive the Japanese pension as well after the retirement.
What we expect from the students is only one thing: “Pay your maximum attention to the
studies and acquire required skills to get a permanent job in Japan. We will guide you”. All successful students will be able to achieve their dreams of getting a permanent job in Japan and contribute to the development of Japan in Sri Lanka in the short, medium and, long term. This kind of higher education model of “studying in Sri Lanka and working in Japan as an IT professional” is available for the first time from LNBTI.
After several years of successful work in Japanese companies, we expect that our LNBTI graduates will be able to get promotions within the Japanese companies. LNBTI has a plan to establish a “LNBTI Alumni in Japan” and encourage them to make investments into Sri Lanka in the future. This plan can be considered as a stable solution to ensure the sustainable development of Sri Lanka in the long-term. It will also be a good solution to the so-called “dollar crises” in the country as well.
