LANKA NIPPON BIZ TECH INSTITUTE (LNBTI) LAUNCHES ITS FIRST DEGREE PROGRAMME APPROVED BY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
Lanka Nippon Biz Tech Institute (LNBTI) has been accredited as a degree awarding institute for its unique IT degree programme, BSc (Hons) Software Engineering, and the Degree launching ceremony and the Press Conference were successfully held on 24th August 2022 at Hilton Residencies (Jaic Hilton), Colombo.
To grace this occasion, Mr. Koga Michio san – Chairman LNBTI, Mr. Dinesh Saparamadu – Deputy Chairman LNBTI, Prof. Ananda Kumara – President LNBTI, Mr. Ikura Kazuyuki san – Director LNBTI, Prof. Sampath Amaratunga – The Chairman UGC, Mr. Nihal Ranasinghe – Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. P Ranepura – Advisor LNBTI & Former Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education & Research, Dr. Manjula Sandirigama – Advisor LNBTI, Mr. Ravindra Perera – Director LNBTI, Dr. Thilak Chaminda – Head of Academic Affairs LNBTI, Mr. Dilshan Samarasekare – Director LNBTI, and Ms. Sameera Malawige – Head of Business Development & Partnerships LNBTI were present.
LNBTI becomes Sri Lanka’s first and only Japanese Higher Education Institute to feature a Japanese job-oriented programme, approved by the Ministry of Education (MoE).

LNBTI is the only Japanese higher education institute in South Asia to offer quality IT degree programmes with an arrangement of professional and permanent employment in the Japanese IT industry. The institute’s strong relationship with professional Japanese business counterparts owes in part to the synergies between its parent companies Metatechno Inc, Japan and hSenid Group of Companies, Sri Lanka. The same synergies have helped form strong relationships with reputed organizations in Japan and locally, many with Japanese origin. This in turn has created a network to supplement the various industrial internships offered in LNBTI’s degree programs; most of which inevitably retain graduates as part of their permanent cadre. LNBTI is the first to introduce this type of “study in Sri Lanka and work in Japan as an IT professional” model in Sri Lanka.

LNBTI’s strong partnerships with Japanese Universities & industry have helped facilitate knowledge sharing, student exchange, and international collaborative research projects which act as a catalyst for academic and scientific accomplishments. As a developing nation which is home to talented youngsters, LNBTI’s programmes act as a stepping stone to push Sri Lanka beyond its limitations in pursuit of a better future for all.
