It is indeed a historic moment to witness a partnership between Lanka Nippon BizTech Institute (LNBTI) which is known to be the first & only Ministry of Education (MoE) & University Grant Commission (UGC) approved degree-awarding Japanese higher education institute in Sri Lanka and Sumedha College Gampaha which is built on the premise of producing patriotic Sri Lankans of international standard. A memorandum of understanding was signed on 19th July 2022 at Sumedha College Gampaha premises between the above-mentioned two entities which are built on a strong foundation to develop students of Sumedha College with the right skill set and knowledge to become successful IT professionals in Japan.
Through this partnership, an excellent opportunity will be created for students to make maximum use of this opening to graduate with a world-recognized IT degrees in Sri Lanka and join the lucrative Japanese IT industry upon successful graduation with a rewarding career. Furthermore, this will no doubt contribute to the development of both Japanese industries and Sri Lankan economy, while brightening studentsβ future. It is expected that not only a large amount of foreign currency flown out of the country for paying tuition and living expenses abroad for study can be saved within the country, but also this model will be able to bring ample amounts of foreign exchange through their remittance to the families and the loved ones after they go to Japan for work.
To grace this occasion, Dr. Wilfred Wijesinghe (Chairman), Mrs. Sayuri Wijesinghe (Director), Mr. Samantha Perera (Principal) with the teaching & administrative staff were physically present and Dr. Harindu Wijesinghe (Vice Chairman) and Dr. Chamara Wijesinghe (Vice Chairman) joined online representing Sumedha College and Mr. Ikura Kazuyuki (Director), Prof. Ananda Kumara (President), Mr. Ravindra Perera (Director), Mr. Dilshan Samarasekera (Director Marketing) and Ms. Sameera Malavige (Head of Business Development & Partnerships) representing LNBTI were present.
